Precare

  • Please wear easily accessible dark clothes specific to the placement of your tattoo.

  • If the desired placement of your tattoo has hair please remove them in any convenient way for you 1-2 days before your appointment. Be careful when doing so because I can’t tattoo over cuts, burns, etc.

  • Avoid alcohol and blood thinners at least 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Make sure your skin is moisturized!

Aftercare

  • Tattoos can “bleed,” or look fuzzy around the edges under the protective film. This is normal! Ink, blood, and plasma are being pushed out of the skin, which is part of the healing process.

  • Do not remove protective film for 3-7 days. To remove the saniderm, pull towards you, don't peel up and it's best to remove under water. After removing, wash under lukewarm water and gently lather with antibacterial soap.

  • Wash your tattoo daily during the healing process. Apply a very thin layer of A&D ointment or Aquaphor in thin layers 2-3 times a day as needed. Please make sure your hands are clean before touching the tattoo!

  • Do not pick at dry scabs. Picking will cause tattoo ink to heal unevenly.

  • Avoid excessive sunlight exposure and don’t apply sunscreen until healed. Wear loose clothing to protect the tattoo.

  • Avoid water for 14 days or until the tattoo(s) have finished peeling - no pools, bath tubs, hot tubs, or open water.

  • Avoid the gym, sauna, jacuzzi, long steamy hot showers, pools, etc until the tattoo(s) have finished peeling.

  • No gardening or contact with animals for 7-10 days (until the area is completely healed and done peeling).

After your tattoo(s) have fully peeled, you are free to resume normal activities. Once your tattoo(s) are healed, use SPF daily and keep your skin moisturized to avoid premature fading especially during the couple of weeks after the tattoo is healed.
